《少年时代》把小男孩十二年的成长经历浓缩在三小时里，从简单的剧情中感受时间的流逝，这是整部电影最精彩之处。其实剧情平淡得很难说如何深爱，但形式前无古人后也难有来者，结尾彩蛋也很惊喜。一部片子可以拍12年，所以我非常佩服导演和主创们的毅力和坚持！
时间在每个人的身上都留下了深刻的痕迹，每一个人在人生的不同阶段都面临着相应的困惑，只有重新回顾整个故事，才会发现其中的精彩与奇妙，一如时间本身的魔力。就好像无需特效与化妆，角色却在不到三个小时里长大、变老。这一切的奇妙，都像影片最初的想法，压缩时间，留住时间的痕迹，从而去感受生命的奇妙。

电影《少年时代》讲述的是一个来自德州的男孩6岁到18岁的人生。导演林克莱特拥塞时间的叙述方法，将时间线作为主线。从男孩六岁一直到男孩18岁成年的少年时代被概括进这个影片之中。也因而觉得让人有点像在看“流水账”。
虽然影片讲述的是另外一个男孩的少年时代，但似乎也在讲述每个人的成长史。三个小时的电影，戏外的我们却仿佛看到自己的12年来的点点滴滴，感动的无以复加。
