男主角獨自一人生活在叢林中的小木屋中至少已有七年的時間，雖然他生存能力非常強，會種植糧食，會用樹皮熬制燈油，保持高度警覺，用空罐頭盒拉起警戒線，還有一隻雙管獵槍作為武器，但是仍然難以抵擋一小群菜刀黨的突然襲擊，最後為了保護女主角犧牲了自己。而懷孕的女主角在後來的流浪中遇到了一個防守嚴密的倖存者營地，雖然結尾沒有明示但女主角應該是得到了收容。
看完電影給我的感想就是在末世情況下，即使你生存能力有多強，都不如加入一個可靠的團隊，有了團隊才有可能生存下去，一個人的話活下去真的好難，在你彎腰種菜的時候就很有可能突然出現一個菜刀黨要了你的命。而可靠的團隊中會有人24小時放哨，先不管是不是真的安全，至少可以讓人放鬆一下神經，不用擔心會不會有人突然出現在背後給自己來一下。
