《少年時代》把小男孩十二年的成長經歷濃縮在三小時里，從簡單的劇情中感受時間的流逝，這是整部電影最精彩之處。其實劇情平淡得很難說如何深愛，但形式前無古人後也難有來者，結尾彩蛋也很驚喜。一部片子可以拍12年，所以我非常佩服導演和主創們的毅力和堅持！
時間在每個人的身上都留下了深刻的痕跡，每一個人在人生的不同階段都面臨著相應的困惑，只有重新回顧整個故事，才會發現其中的精彩與奇妙，一如時間本身的魔力。就好像無需特效與化妝，角色卻在不到三個小時里長大、變老。這一切的奇妙，都像影片最初的想法，壓縮時間，留住時間的痕跡，從而去感受生命的奇妙。

電影《少年時代》講述的是一個來自德州的男孩6歲到18歲的人生。導演林克萊特擁塞時間的敘述方法，將時間線作為主線。從男孩六歲一直到男孩18歲成年的少年時代被概括進這個影片之中。也因而覺得讓人有點像在看「流水賬」。
雖然影片講述的是另外一個男孩的少年時代，但似乎也在講述每個人的成長史。三個小時的電影，戲外的我們卻彷彿看到自己的12年來的點點滴滴，感動的無以復加。
